Before automated emails my life was full of "dang what time did she say again" and "I wonder what happened to her, I haven't seen sis in a while". In short it was a mess and it wasn't before long that I did some research and got setup on a booking site to make communicating with my clients easier. So I'm here to share a little secret that could elevate your nail business to new heights-the magic of email automations!
Why, you might ask, should you jump on the email automation bandwagon if you haven't already? Well, it's like having your own personal assistant, but without the hefty price tag.
The real game-changer is while you're creating those stunning nail masterpieces, your email automations are quietly working in the background, building client loyalty and keeping your appointment book full.
Here are the 4 must have email automations for your nail business:
•Confirmation Email: This one may seem obvious but surprisingly many techs are still not using an online booking platform and this is why I encourage having one established even if you're home-based. The confirmation email is a crucial automated message that provides customers with reassurance that their appointment has been successfully received and processed. This email typically includes details such as the date and time of the appointment, or reservation confirmation number. It helps in setting clear expectations for the customer regarding their upcoming interaction with your business. I like to reiterate my policies in this email for clarity.
•Reminders: Sending automated reminder emails can help reduce no-shows for appointments, which can be a huge disruption in our business. Remind clients to always input accurate personal information and keep it updated for effective communication. Reminders should be scheduled at strategic intervals before the appointment to ensure that customers have ample time to prepare or reschedule if needed. I have my reminders set for 48 hours and 3 hours. These reminders can also include any important details or documents that the customer may need to bring along.
•Thank you/Follow-up with Link to Book Next Appointment and Leave Review: After a customer has completed their appointment, a follow-up email with a thank you and a link to book their next appointment tremendously helps to drive repeat business. I cant tell you how many times clients come in mentioning how their follow up email reminded that that they need to book and appointment. Additionally, including a prompt for customers to leave a review can help gather valuable feedback and testimonials. This automated email showcases your commitment to customer satisfaction and encourages ongoing engagement.
•Lost Customer Email: This one is popular in ecommerce but also very valuable for service based businesses, but addressing lost customers through automated emails has been a highly effective way to re-engage with them and win back their business. I recommend scheduling this email to go out 7-9 weeks after their last appointment. These emails should offer incentives, discounts, or personalized recommendations to entice customers to return. By acknowledging the absence of a customer and expressing a desire to reconnect, you demonstrate your commitment to customer retention and satisfaction.
Not having these 4 types of emails on automation is almost like shooting yourself in the foot. The load of running a growing nail business is already taxing enough, we have to take advantage of all resources at hand. I highly recommend getting these set up in your booking platform ASAP. Let your assistant help you retain and reclaim your clientele so you can focus on scaling in other ways.
